E. W. Wallace was born April 14, 1859, on a homestead near North Yamhill. He was educated at McMinnville College and followed the trade of tinsmith for ten years. He moved into the grocery business and worked at that longer than anyone else in the city. He was a prominent Woodman. As a citizen, he was courteous and considerate. He lived in McMinnville.
