Wright

Elsia Wright was born in Knox County, Illinois in 1851. At the age of 20 years, he came to Oregon and farmed until 1888. Wright then opened a harness business, which was very successful. In 1892 he erected Union block and became a stockholder. In 1893 he erected the Wright block, one of the prettiest in the city. He served eight years as city councilman. He was one of the heaviest men in the county, weighing 263 pounds when on full feed. Mr. Wright ran a thresher every summer for 28 years.
